چکیده
Moyamoya is an intriguing and controrersial syndrome. This patient study senes to align the patbophysiology of intracranial hemorrhage in moyamoya with the cerebral rascular disease seen with hypertension, or aging. The historical eridence Unking lipohyalinosis and microaneurysms to cerebral hemorrhage is reviewed, the pathogenesis of this angiopathy Is discussed, and explanations considered for its association with the rascular pattern of moyamoya. We propose that bemodynamlcs, genetics or both are among the primary operant etiologic factors. Stroke, Vol 11, No 4, 1980

متن کاملCaudate hemorrhage with moyamoya-like vasculopathy from atherosclerotic disease.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Caudate hemorrhage usually results from hypertension, rupture of arteriovenous malformation or aneurysm, or rarely, moyamoya disease. Moyamoya-like changes related to severe atherosclerotic occlusive disease, usually causing ischemic stroke, have been reported. CASE DESCRIPTION A 51-year-old normotensive patient was admitted with headache due to a left caudate hematoma ...

متن کاملRapid Progression of Cerebral Infarction after Intraventricular Hemorrhage in Adult Moyamoya Disease
The authors present a rare case of adult moyamoya disease in which a patient experienced rapid progression of cerebral infarction after intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH). A healthy 39-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with sudden headache, a decreased level of consciousness and mild tetraparesis. Initial magnetic resonance imaging revealed small cerebral infarction and IVH. Although t...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The efficacy of superficial temporal artery-middle cerebral artery (STA-MCA) anastomosis in adult moyamoya disease was evaluated by clinicopathophysiological studies. METHODS Fifteen patients with cerebral ischemic attacks (ischemia group) and 15 patients with intracranial hemorrhages (hemorrhage group) were investigated. Clinicoangiographic features and regional cerebr...
